There’s this fabulous hotel here in Singapore called Raffles Hotel. It has its roots in the colonial era,and it is one of the few remaining buildings from the good old days. It was also the place where someone once invented a cocktail called the ‘Singapore sling’.
Today, the hotel is a beautiful, well-maintained tourist trap. Since we at seatsofourpants.com are not above stumbling into the occasional tourist trap, we did stop by for a drink. The Singapore Sling sold for something godawful (a day’s budget or so), so we opted for a 24 dollar round of beer instead.
Today’s lesson: a beer is a beer.
