I can’t help it. I have to tell the world about his place. Right now, northern Sumatra must be one of the best places in the world for a vacation. OK, so getting here might cost a bit. However, just consider some of the local prices:
Lunch at an OK restaurant: 2-3 dollars
Dinner at a fancy place, beverage included: 8-10 dollars
Double room at a resort-style hotel with all amenities: 10 dollars/night
A beer: 2 dollars
30 minute transport on a ferry: 70 cents
6 hour air conditioned mini bus ride: 7 dollars
Add to that an absolutely gorgeous setting, with all kinds of adventurous and non-adventurous activities available around the corner. The people are also really friendly. What you’ve got is Lake Toba. Come here before everyone else does! We’re enjoying it a lot, getting a fair bit done on our writing and managing (cough) to squeeze some (cough) well-needed rest in. Let me know if you need more info and I’ll be happy to talk to into coming here.
