At various times in my life I’ve found myself being very outspoken about female rights. That being said, there are times on this trip that I’ve gladly taken the back seat from a male/female point of view.
Take our visit to the mummy village outside of Moni as a good example. We arrived on a celebration day. A new roof was going up on a house, an occasion that calls for a feast in this part of the world. One of the merrymakers walked over to us with the dreaded pitcher of jungle juice we find intolerable.
The drink offer was for Martin alone. I gladly stepped aside as Martin begrudgingly sipped from the nasty concoction. Good manners dictates you take what is offered and I wasn’t involved in the offer.
Hallelujah!
