OK that headline may sound a bit harsh but we just spent most of our only full day here in Manali chasing after money. For some undisclosed reason all banks were closed today. Also, every last ATM was out of cash.
After running around all over town we finally found the only one that had money. Unfortunately, the power was out as well. We decided to spend our last 190 rupees (3 USD) on lunch, after which we re-joined the sixty-foot line at the Last ATM.
The Last ATM ran out of cash two people ahead of us.
In the end, we exchanged one of our crisp fifty-dollar bills at our hotel.
At least we learned our lesson, and got a free five-hour walking work-out for free!
