With our (or rather, Martin’s) extreme trekking under our belt, we’ve moved southwest to McLeod Ganj, which is the premier backpacker village in Himachal Pradesh. It is also the home in exile of the Dalai Lama and thousands of Tibetan refugees. (Excuse the terrible photo – it was overcast and yucky for most of today)
Because of its Buddhist and Tibetan influence, the town offers a variety of holistic activities and the classic seekers/backpackers to go along with them. It’s not Martin’s thing, but I huffed, puffed and lost my dinner on a massive mountain, so he’s going to sit here for a t least 4 days while I take some yoga courses. We’ve also signed on for a two day cooking course, which we will happily share with our lovely readers once we’re done.
