I told you that we’ve ridden all forms of transportation available at this point here. Well, I stand corrected. The Indian sleeper class bus is something we’ve never seen before, and are hoping to never ride in again.
We booked ourselves into two sleeper class seats on a ride south from Haridwar to Agra. We’ve ridden in various types of “sleeper classes” before on this trip. They’re usually just seats that recline into the lap of the person behind you. Not on this bus. No.
This bus had lowered the luggage rack area above the seats and created narrow beds. The seats still exist, they’re just covered by awkward little beds. So, our 12-hour, overnight bus ride was spent shoved in the glorified luggage rack, laying on our sides because the bed wasn’t wide enough to lie on our backs.
Good times.
