Settling into a short-term expat life in Kathmandu gives us time to really explore. Unlike the transitory nature of backpacking – transit, find a hotel, find a restaurant, figure out sightseeing, figure out your next form of transit – settling in somewhere gave us the freedom to move at our own pace.
We’re not the fastest travelers around. Our philosophy for this trip has been simple. Get somewhere and settle in for at least two nights. If the place has a good vibe, neat things to do or is just plain ol’ stunning, we’ll stay a while. This accounts for our relatively low country count (16 countries in 14 months) for this trip.
One of the perks of exploring at our own pace are the photo opportunities. We’re not professional photographers – that much is obvious – but the country has offered up some stunning scenery and we’d like to share it with you. I’ve put together some of my favorite photos from Kathmandu and our Annapurna Sanctuary trek. Check them out in the gallery below.
