About a month before we left for this trip I received an envelope from my Dad. It contained an article he had clipped from his local newspaper. Attached to it was a post-it note specifying simply “Do Not Read.”
The article was his (very weak) attempt at a protest. As most parents would, he wanted us to stay home rather than going on this hare-brained trip. Though as an adventurer himself, he couldn’t help sending a little advice. Well, I heeded his advise and didn’t read the article – that is, until right before I left. Titled Asia’s Lost Treasure Trove, the article was about our next destination – Myanmar.
That’s right. We’re heading back to SE Asia – again. This will be our second time in Bangkok, our third trip to SE Asia (on this RTW anyway), but our first time in Myanmar. We’re pumped! And, we get to eat Thai food again while we wait for our visas to be processed. It takes being away from Bangkok street food to realize just how damn good it is. Seriously. I expect the twenty pounds I’ve lost on the road to be pumped back on over the weekend. That’s my goal, anyway – to eat constantly.
Myanmar (via Bangkok) here we come!
